A collection of great music (and a growler of Full Pint Brewing Company Chinookie IPA) definitely hits the spot after a long week of work. 640.012 features songs from Goonies Never Say Die, MinionTV, Set Fire To Flames, Grimble Grumble, Hash Jar Tempo, Windy & Carl, and Yume Bitsu (2 songs less than my original post – they’ll appear on an upcoming podcast). Happy Fathers Day and Happy Summer Solstice!

Play this podcast loud – songs from Poem Rocket, Sonic Youth, Dust Devils, Kilgore Trout, A.C. Temple, Shellac, Wedding Present, Hurl, Rodan, Seam, and Ear Trumpet. Yep, these are old songs, but they kick my ass every time I hear them, so I figured that you needed to hear them as well.

The latest upload to the 6forty project comes directly from the vinyl archive. Nine extended tracks (split between the two files) featuring Magic Hour, Hovercraft, Stereolab/Nurse With Wound, Alasehir, Mogwai, Jessamine, Labradford, Jessica Bailiff (w/ the dithering effect), and Hood (remixed by Duo 14). Enjoy!

This file, compiled in honor of Savage Republic’s recent trek through Eastern Europe, is the first of several that I’ll prepare over the next few months, featuring bands from Independent Project Records and other similar labels.  This is a really great compilation of music. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Cheers!

A thorough re-reading of Tolkien’s Silmarillion has consumed my winter evenings. The stories are heroic, and often very dark. And who better to provide the soundtrack than Death in June, Coil, Sol Invictus, Current 93, and Cindytalk. Download 640.002 to your computer and enjoy. Much more from these bands (and their label mates) to come…

1 file  >  19 bands  >  110 minutes. Please save the file to your computer’s hard drive and then play it. I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t stream it directly from this site. 640.001 is best enjoyed when played loud.
